Toyota FJ Cruiser, Modified.

Many have requested for a Toyota FJ Cruiser to be featured on Modified and here it is!

This blue FJ Cruiser is about as modified as they come and actually gets used for off-roading and not just the suburban streets like 90% of the 4x4’s out there.

Andrew (the vehicle owner) has done some careful thinking and a lot of research to get his Toyota FJ Cruiser the way it is and I must add Andrew has done a spectacular job especially considering it’s Andrews first proper 4 Wheel Drive he has owned!

The FJ Cruiser is quite small and compares to the likes of the 4 door Jeep Wrangler when it comes to cargo space area, however this is no problem for Andrew, his partner and 3 big dogs as they tow a camper trailer for the longer trips.

Every square inch is this blue Toyota FJ Cruiser has been put to good use and Andrew has added some very cleaver ‘thinking outside the box’ ideas. One of those ideas is the use of CnC cable track for his fridge DC cable (shown in the video).

Along with Andrews very cool and tidy looking custom draw system in the rear cargo area, the very clever triple LED light bars on dimmers, triple battery setup and the off-road lights on the front, this Toyota FJ Cruiser is a dream setup and will provide many details and ideas for other FJ owners and even general 4 Wheelers.

Andrew’s top 3 trips in the FJ Cruiser: in no particular order.

  1. Brunswick Junction
  2. Collie Black Diamond
  3. Margret river

Unstoppable moment in the Toyota FJ Cruiser:

Skull dragging a mates Navara around Lancelin after a V8 Landcruiser Workmate couldn’t

Most scary situation in the FJ Cruiser:

Being stuck on Wilbinga beach while trying to pull out a Jeep, when suddenly the tide changes. Heart stopping day.

Andrew's modification tips:

A Stock FJ will do almost everything against any modified 2inch 4wd, but to make the FJ unstoppable go for a 2 inch lift and tires.

Top 3 tips with (pick any area on the FJ Cruiser vehicle you’d like to offer advice about):

1.       They love fuel, so if the FJ does not come with and AUX tank it is necessary to install one.

2.       Changing the paper filter to the K&N helps with fuel and improves the airflow.

3.       It might look big on the outside but really, it is very small inside so thing about what you plan on carrying and whether you will have enough room for all your gear.
